In this opportunity, Manuel Barrós introduces and translates a Brazilian writer Manoel Carlos Karam”™s significant selection of bagatelles, originally published in the book Godot é uma árvore [Godot is a tree] (2015). These bagatelles has been selected because they represent a very important part of Karam”™s poetic, one of the most original and unknown authors of Brazilian nonsense literature. Some important characteristics of those bagatelles are the unusual, the playful and the intertextuality, all of them written with a very critical sense of humor in Karam”™s vision of Brazilian, Latin American and universal literatures and cultures. It should be added that this is the first time that Karam is translated to another language. Therefore, publishing this selection in bilingual, the translator spread Karam”™s original style and increase the scene of Brazilian literature in Peru and in Latin America.
