Abstract

In this opportunity, Manuel Barrós translates a selection of Dogs songs (2013), American writer and poet Mary Oliver”™s (1935-2019) book of poetry. The translated poems let us know some of its important characteristics: subtlety, tenderness and humor. The is one of the best known books of the author, whom in 1984 won the Pulitzer Prize for poetry and in 1992, the National Book Award.

Manuel Barrós es sociólogo, investigador y traductor. Ha publicado traducciones de distintos escritores y poetas en revistas y, junto con Óscar Limache, Doze noturnos da Holanda / Doce nocturnos de Holanda (Ediciones Andesgraund, 2016; 2018) de Cecí­lia Meireles, en Santiago de Chile.
