The aim is to highlight the contributions to the construction of a budding multiculturalism by one of the most transgressive and anticolonialist thinkers Peru has ever had, who stood out for his staunch defense of the subaltern and invisible groups of Peruvian society, mainly the native peoples. From an interdisciplinary point of view, the author vindicates González Prada’s cultural project (which is still political), still in force. Therefore, the work Baladas Peruanas is analyzed on the basis of the sociology of literature.
