Luis Valle Goicochea (1908-1953) is one of the Peruvian poets whose literary work deserves further reading and appreciation. One of the main themes and topics of his lyrical production is the spiritual experience, which is inspired by his time as a seminarian and his religious vocation. The objective of this article is to carry out a reading of the poems of Tema inefable of the author, which remained unpublished and was published posthumously. The collection of poems, which is impregnated with a deep religious sense, addresses the spiritual experience of the poet, through the affirmation of Christian values, the exemplary meaning of the figure of Saint Francis de Assisi and divine union. Valle Goicochea’s poetry reveals the encounter with the divinity as a sign of his personal and spiritual search.
