In this article the author seeks, through the use of symbols and their interpretation, to link the content of the dreams documented by Luis Valle Goicochea with his experience as a patient. For this purpose, she reviews the texts “Sueños de un poeta” (1949) and “Angustias y temores” (1949). In this sense, the author manages to identify strong manifestations of guilt and shame, affections that are compatible with the writer’s diagnosis.
