Abstract

In this opportunity, Manuel Barrós introduces and translates a selection of poems by the poet, writer and translator Arseny Tarkovsky. These poems let me know a sample of his writing through his main themes, since Arseny is little known in Spanish. Thus, the translator makes his version from English and expands the panorama of Arseny’s work in Peru and Latin America.

Author Biography

Manuel Barrós, Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú

Manuel Barrós es sociólogo, investigador y traductor. Tiene la licenciatura en Sociología por la Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú. Ha traducido distintos escritores y poetas en revistas. Con Óscar Limache, ha publicado Doze noturnos da Holanda / Doce nocturnos de Holanda (Ediciones Andesgraund, 2016; 2018), de Cecília Meireles, y Na pata do cavalo há sete abismos / En la pata del caballo hay siete abismos (La Apacheta Editores; Editorial Cronos, 2021), de Clarissa Macedo. Trabaja en el desarrollo e implementación de políticas culturales vinculadas a la industria del libro y el fomento de la lectura.
